Restaurant Week In Rome: Nov. 15 to 21
It's ok to have champagne taste on a beer wallet during restaurant week in Rome
Generally the phrase is buon appetito, but from the 15th to the 21st it's more like miglior appetito, and miglior prezzo (better price). Rome Restaurant Week is definitely manna from heaven for foodies (pardon the horrible mixed metaphor), especially foodies who can't help but blanche at the prices on the menus around town.
For this week, the the Settimana del Gusto, the Week of Taste which applauds locally grown foods and effectively celebrates Italians for being so Italian when they cook. Participating eateries among the best restaurants in Rome are creating three-course meals for €25 per person. There will be a surcharge of €10 for restaurants with more than 75 “Gambero Rosso” points and if selecting a Michelin-starred establishment, the cost per person increases by €10 for each star (but hey, its still considerably less than normal prices at the best restaurants in Rome).
If your mouth's watering, book all your delicious Italian feasts amongst the city's 48 participating restaurants through www.restaurantweek.it and remember, miglior appetito!
