Italian Housewife Crowned "Miss Fat Italy"

The 22nd annual “Miss Cicciona” contest has just crowned a new beauty queen. For 22 years now, this annual contest has been a chance for women all over Italy (as long as they weigh at least 100 KG (220 lbs) to compete to win the title of Italy's most beautiful large woman. Ornella Chiapperini, an unemployed housewife from Naples weighing in at 147,3 kg (325 lbs) was chosen over the other 27 hopefuls. Her winning words were “Diet, no thanks! I am happy just the way I am, even though Italian society discriminates against fat people,” according to an article in Il Messaggero today.
