Overview
No need to drive all the way to Tuscany to experience this phenomenon first hand, our day trip to the Castelli Romani is sure to please your palate while you take a break from the hustle and bustle of touring Rome! Departing from the ancient city at approximately 11:30 AM, our Mercedes sedan or Viano van and driver will accompany you on a private tour south of Rome to the Castelli Romani wine region. We travel down the Appian Way, the historic pass where, according to history and legend, St. Peter had a vision of Jesus who convinced him to return to Rome to seek martyrdom.
Once outside Rome we arrive in the historic wine making town of Frascati, for a visit to a family run vineyard and agriturismo producing Frascati doc superiore, red wine, olive oil, and other local specialities. You will be afforded a visit to the wine cellars, production area and grounds.
After wine tasting you will be free to take your seat in the dining area or terrace for lunch.
Thereafter you will have a chance to further explore the grounds, have a swim in the pool during summer, and purchase any wines you might wish to take home with you. From here the half day tour concludes and we would begin the journey back to your hotel. If you wish, time can be added on to this tour in order to explore the center of Frascati, the Lake Albano and town of Castelgandolfo, or to add an additional winery vist.
