This tour was created for cruisegoers who want a more personalized option than the large cruise ship tours offer. This tour is an intimate journey back in time to explore the ancient city of Pompeii, buried by ash during one of nature's most devastating volcanic eruptions. In addition to Mt. Vesuvius, we travel to Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast to experience the stunning views, hospitable people, and exquisite food of the Campania region.
Our luxury air conditioned van will pick up clients at the Naples port, and from there we head straight over to Pompeii where a local expert guide will lead us on an archaeological journey through the ancient city of Pompeii.
During this 2 hour visit in English you will learn about this mysterious city that was covered in ash during the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in the year 79 AD. Through the astonishing remains and ruins of this ancient city, you will get a true glimpse of the everyday life during the Imperial Age and imagine the horror felt by these people in their last moments of life before the city was so disastrously buried.
Once the tour has ended we will travel to Sorrento, the gateway to the Amalfi Coast. In Sorrento we normally recommend a wonderful restaurant on the pier overlooking the water where our hosts serve up a local selection of fresh seafood, homemade fresh pastas, local wines, and delectable desserts. Should you prefer, we can continue on to the Amalfi Coast where you can select a restaurant of your choice.
After lunch, you will have some free time to explore the wonderful coastal towns and their many shops which sell local specialities such as Limoncello and delicious pastries, as well as to take in the dramatic views of the stunning Amalfi Coast before returning to the port in time for departure.
This tour is organized using full day luxury air conditioned transportation and an English speaking driver. For the ruins of Pompeii segment of the tour, we will also provide an English speaking tour guide to guide you through current excavations.

Includes vehicle and driver for the full day, including pick up at Naples Port, disposition all day for a tour of Pompeii, visit to Sorrento, and return to port. Private guided tour of Pompeii and all entry fees are included. Not included in tour: lunch (choice of fixed price menu at 20 Euro per person as outlined above in tour description, or a la carte). Our van and driver will be waiting for you as you disembark from your ship. The driver will be holding a sign that reads the name as requested by you in your booking. At the end of the tour your driver will accompany you back to the port in time for your ship's departure.
