“Santa Benedetta Vineyards” is a fully private Rome wine tasting excursion in the beautiful Santa Benedetta vineyard near Grottaferratta.
A little further up the valley in the area of Frascati and Grottaferrata, lies the secluded Santa Benedetta wine growing community. You’ll taste the wines which have made Frascati famous, and share tasty foods like Lariano bread, cured meats, and farm cheeses in a rustic setting so typical of the Roman hills. Authentic Rome wine tasting at it’s best!
From Rome, your chauffeur will drive you to the vineyards with Castelli Romani sightseeing en route, before wine tasting with food accompaniment in Monte Porzio Catone. Part of Tusculum in antiquity, the hamlet borders Frascati, Grottaferrata, Monte Compatri, and Rome, known today for wine growing and the Coronese Hermitage (1607). The Santa Benedetta vineyard produces wine in what used to be a convent some 300 years ago. Today, the Benedetti family invite visitors to their winery (1917) and home by special request only. A paradise of solitude, tucked away behind high walls and woodland, the modern facility produces wines from the Malvasia, Bellone, and Trebbiano Toscano grapes. You will taste several Santa Benedetta wines, extra virgin olive oil with Lariano bread, cured meats, and a variety of cheeses. Your chauffeur will then return you to Rome.
